Aging Services of WA Annual Conference “Who Decides?”
— Tuesday, July 13th, 2010 by WBSC
Aging Services of Washington is an advocacy leader for long term care, assisted living, affordable housing and senior living and community services in Washington.
Leadership from Warm Beach Senior Community attended the conference in Chelan, WA at the end of June with other aging services providers throughout the state. The theme for the week posed an ehtical, philosophical, practical and thought-provoking question. It was intended to stimulate a rich dialogue as we all consider the varying needs of senior and the models of service and care delivery that will be required to serve them. Who Decides? is more than a question. It is a shift in mindset - a recognition that the current landscape is changing, and as it changes, the role of everyone involved - from consumers to family members to direct care workers to CEOs and boards is evolving.
The conference also addressed hot topics in breakout sessions such as Electronic Medical Records, Social Media, Fraud and Security, marketing in Tough Times, Finance, Census, Fund Development, Social Accountability and the 990, New Survey Guidelines for nursing homes. Larry, Foss, Laura Hofmann, Manisha Desai and Betty Welsh attended.
